Julie Nadel is the Director of Graduate Education in the Office of the Vice Provost of Graduate and Professional Education. In this role, she develops and facilitates effective programs and strategic initiatives for graduate students to have their best experience at Johns Hopkins and prepare them for meaningful careers. This work is in collaboration with the Vice Provost of Graduate Education, the Vice Deans of Education, members of the Doctor of Philosophy Board, and other stakeholders across the University.
Prior to her work at Hopkins, Dr. Nadel was the Associate Director of Education at the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS), where she managed the implementation of a virtual mentoring program for undergraduate women in STEM, created and executed professional development events for trainee members of the Academy, and designed a business plan for new funding streams to decrease the financial burden on members from underserved communities. She was the 2015/16 Genetics and Education Fellow for the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) and the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG). Dr. Nadel received her PhD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in human genetics in 2015.
