Pat Phelps has eight years of experience providing career coaching to PhD students and Postdoctoral Fellows. Pat began her career in the biotech industry where she held leadership positions in R&D, Technology Transfer and Global Product Development and Marketing. After twenty years in research careers, Pat transitioned into science education administration and outreach. She founded the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Office of Science, Training and Diversity and North Carolina DNA Day. Pat then accepted the Graduate Partnerships Director Position at the National Institutes of Health where she founded the Translational Science Training Bootcamp. Prior to Johns Hopkins University, Pat was the Educator for Smithsonian Museum of Natural History’s ‘Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code’ exhibit.
