Kate Bradford, Ph.D.

Director, Johns Hopkins Medicine Professional Development and Career Office

Dr. Kate Bradford is the Director of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Professional Development and Career Office (PDCO), which serves PhD students and Postdoctoral Fellows in the School of Medicine, Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the School of Nursing. Kate joined the office in 2017 and in her previous roles as Assistant and Associate Director, Kate developed and presented professional development workshops and career clinics, ran the annual Three Minute Thesis Competition, oversaw PDCO experiential education initiatives and internships, and served on cross-university committees to strengthen doctoral career services across all JHU schools. In partnership with the JHU PHutures Office, Kate co-chaired the inaugural Horizons by Hopkins Conference in 2020. Kate received her PhD in 2015 from the JHU Krieger School of Arts and Sciences Department of Biology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in infectious disease at the US Food and Drug Administration. Prior to JHU, Kate received her BS from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and worked at NIH as a post-baccalaureate research fellow after graduation
