Elizabeth Kane

Export Control Officer

As Export Control Officer, Liz Kane is responsible for institutional compliance with export control laws, including U.S. sanctions regulations. Prior to joining JHU, Liz worked as a products liability and mass torts litigation attorney at Venable LLP, where she had extensive deposition and trial practice, serving as lead attorney in hundreds of depositions and as a member of multiple trial teams. Liz was recognized as a Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Star, 2016-2019.

Liz holds a B.A. in Political Science from the Johns Hopkins University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and with minors in Psychology and Entrepreneurship & Management, and a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. She is a member of the New York, Maryland, and District of Columbia bars.
