Ellen Chow serves as the Associate Vice Provost for University Enrollment Management. In this role, she oversees the undergraduate admissions office and provides strategic support for graduate divisions across Johns Hopkins University. She transitioned to this role after serving 13 years as the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, leading the recruitment and selection of first-year and transfer students to the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. Her oversight included managing the communications, visitors center, and admissions counseling teams.
Prior to Hopkins, she worked for her undergraduate alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, most recently serving as the Vice Dean of Strategic Planning for the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Ellen started her career in higher education managing admissions operations among other key roles for Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She was first drawn to higher education after working with a number of universities at The Alford Group, a consulting firm focused on supporting the strategic development of nonprofit organizations. Ellen completed her bachelors degree at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a masters degree in social service administration from the University of Chicago.
