Mary O’Connell is the Associate Vice Provost for Finance and Administration/Divisional Business Officer for Student Services at Johns Hopkins University. In this role, she supports finance, human resources, facilities, IT services, and dining for university-wide student services.
A member of the Student Affairs leadership team since arriving at Hopkins in May 2015, O’Connell previously held the title of Senior Executive Director of Student Affairs Finance and Administration before serving as the inaugural Associate Vice Provost for Finance and Administration/Divisional Business Officer for Student Services.
O’Connell came to JHU from Laureate Education, where she was the Vice President of Student Operations and oversaw shared services supporting student finance, registrar, veterans’ affairs, and forecasting/reporting functions for nine colleges and universities in the Laureate global network. She supervised teams located both domestically and internationally, including the Netherlands and Poland. Prior to Laureate, O’Connell was a Vice President at T. Rowe Price, where she worked for 10 years.
O’Connell received her Bachelor of Arts from American University before earning a Master of Science in Business from the Johns Hopkins University School of Continuing Studies.
