PhD programs at Johns Hopkins University are reviewed every 5-7 years by the University-wide Doctor of Philosophy Board (DPB), generally in coordination with each academic division’s own program review cycle. Following this review, the Doctor of Philosophy Board (DPB) advises the Provost regarding each program’s strengths, areas of improvement, and needs based upon discussion of the data and information provided in the PhD Program Review Resource Document by the program. Upon receipt of a written report from the DPB, the Provost provides timely written feedback to the respective Dean and Vice Dean.
Resources provided on this page include the PhD Program Review Protocol document which provides an overview of the DPB program review process and the steps involved, and the PhD Program Review Resource Document template which is used by the programs to share information with the Doctor of Philosophy Board.
