Ira Gooding

Provost’s Fellow

Ira has served as Provost’s Fellow for Digital Initiatives since 2016, assisting Executive Vice Provost Stephen Gange in matters related to online education at JHU. He acts as the University’s primary point of contact with Coursera, and he sits on the Coursera Council. In 2018, he led the introduction of the Digital Education and Learning Technology Acceleration (DELTA) grant program to fund a variety of initiatives that enhance teaching and learning at JHU.

Ira has served Johns Hopkins for more than a decade in a number of roles, including as Manager of the Open Education Lab in the School of Public Health’s Center for Teaching and Learning and as the Massive Open Online Course Administrator for the Data Science Lab in the Department of Biostatistics.

Ira holds a Master of Arts in English language and literature from the University of Maryland, College Park.
